It’s time for another “Waiting on Wednesday” and this time, I’ll talk about a book from my favorite author of all times. Tahereh Mafi!

WHY AM I WAITING?
I’m really excited about this release! I loved “Furthermore” and gave it 5 stars. It was definetly one of my favorite reads of this year. I have high expectations for this one and knowing that it’s from Tahereh Mafi, I know I won’t be desapointed.

WHY AM I WAITING?
Now, I need to be honest with you guys. I’ve only read one book by Marissa Meyers and that was “Cinder“. It’s been a long time and I enjoyed the book, but haven’t bought the sequels yet.
I’m curious and I constantly see amazing reviews about “The Lunar Chronicles”. I don’t know why I haven’t finished the series yet. I really liked of “Cinder” though.
I like the author’s writing and this new book sound really good.
Plus, I absolutetly love characters with powers. This one should be amazing as well, so I can’t wait to have my own copy.

WHY AM I WAITING?
I love Stephanie Perkin’s writing. It’s so clean, complex and full of details. The first story that I’ve read from her were “My True Love Gave To Me”. Her short story was one of my favorites.
“Anna and the French Kiss” is on my TBR for a really long time. I’ve read a few pages, but stopped, because I wanted to buy a physical copy. I hope I can fix this pretty soon and get to know more of her work.
Also, the cover and the synopsis of “There’s Someone Inside Your House” looks amazing.
I love this genre and books that make me guess who is the killer.
I’m so excited to find out what the author will bring us this time.

Maratona Literária de Inverno 2017 Update #2

Olá, leitores!
Hoje é o terceiro dia de #MLI2017 e posso dizer que esta maratona está sendo um sucesso para mim.
Finalmente a ressaca literária está bem longe e estou conseguindo manter o ritmo de leitura.

Ontem, consegui completar mais um desafio:

LIVRO QUE COMPREI PELA CAPA: Check ✓

“O Curioso Caso de Benjamin Button” tem apenas 51 páginas e apesar de ser um clássico, tem um ritmo rápido e fácil de se compreender.
Este livro estava na minha lista de desejados há muito tempo e fiquei muito animada ao saber que seria lançado pela Folha de São Paulo.
Sei que muitos já devem saber sobre o que o livro se trata, porém deixarei a sinopse dele por aqui.

SINOPSE:
Quando o pai de Benjamin Button chega ao hospital, ele fica surpreso e vergonhado ao descobrir que seu novo bebê, é um homem envelhecido, aparentando não ter menos de setenta anos. Com o passar do tempo, o jovem Benjamin não precisa mais de uma bengala, o cabelo deixa de ser cinza, seus membros ficam menos frágeis, suas rugas menos profundas, à medida que envelhece para a infância e além …

Nascer, crescer, envelhecer e morrer são etapas de todo destino e só a ficção permite imaginar outros rumos. F. Scott Fitzgerald (1896-1940) fantasiou a inversão da seta do tempo em “O Curioso Caso de Benjamin Button”, a saga de um homem que nasce velho e morre bebê.

Eu não fazia a menor ideia do que esperar, já que não havia assistido ao filme.
Mesmo assim, o livro me surpreendeu.
Foi uma leitura muito agradável e de certa forma, triste. Sem dúvidas, eu recomendo ler esta obra.
Agora retomarei a leitura de “Sete Minutos Depois da Meia-Noite” do Patrick Ness.
Por enquanto, eu li 40 páginas. Creio que conseguirei terminá-lo ainda hoje.

Maratona de Inverno 2017 Update #1

Olá, leitores!
Como eu disse em um post anterior, estou participando da #MLI2017 e hoje a maratona teve o seu início.
Eu fiz a escolha certa em começar por “By Your Side” da Kasie West. Eu consegui terminá-lo muito rápido e amei o livro.

Ou seja, o primeiro desafio da maratona está completo:

LIVRO COM A CAPA AZUL: Check ✓

O livro foi lançado este ano nos Estados Unidos e ainda não está disponível em português. Espero que seja traduzido em breve para que mais pessoas possam ler essa obra.
Por enquanto, deixarei a sinopse dele, em português.

SINOPSE:
Quando Autumn Collins percebe que foi acidentalmente trancada na biblioteca e terá que passar o final de semana, ela pensa que nada mais pode dar errado.
Isso foi antes dela perceber que Dax Miller está trancado com ela. Autumn não sabe nada sobre Dax, além de que ele é problema. Entre os rumores sobre uma briga envolvendo ele e sua reputação de solitário, Dax não é exatamente o tipo de pessoa para se ficar preso junto.
Mesmo assim, ela se mantém positiva e com o pensamento de que é uma questão de tempo até que seu quase namorado, Jeff, perceba o seu sumiço e vá até a biblioteca para resgatá-la.

Porém, ele não aparece. Ninguém aparece.

Autumn percebe que terá de passar os próximos dias vivendo de uma máquina automática de comida e conversar com o garoto que, claramente, não quer nada com ela.
Exceto, que Dax parece ser mais complexo do que aparenta.
Quando o garoto e Autumn vão se abrindo um para o outro, mesmo que de má vontade, Autumn acaba se surpreendendo com a rápida conexão entre os dois.
Será que os sentimentos entre eles sobreviverá quando o final de semana acabar, Autumn voltar para a antiga vida e seu antigo interesse amoroso, ameaçarem afastá-la de Dax?

Esse livro tem uma leitura super rápida, divertida e com um inglês fácil para quem quiser arriscar. Em breve, postarei a resenha dele aqui no blog e compartilharei mais de minha opinião.
Agora irei começar a ler “Sete Minutos Depois da Meia-Noite” do Patrick Ness.
Estou com altas expectativas para esse livro e espero não me decepcionar.

Livros Que Li Até Agora

Olá, leitores!
No começo do ano, eu determinei no Goodreads uma meta de ler 55 livros durante o ano. É um número razoável e com organização, fácil de se alcançar. No entanto, a ressaca literária me atingiu várias vezes e as minhas leituras estão atrasadas.
Ou seja, tentarei participar de várias maratonas literárias para manter o ritmo e finalizar o ano com a minha meta cumprida.

Estamos em Julho, e até agora, consegui ler 20 livros. Ainda faltam 25 livros para eu alcançar a minha meta, mas não estou com pressa.
Esse ano está sendo bem corrido e encaixar a leitura no dia-a-dia está cada vez mais difícil.
Infelizmente, nem todos os livros lidos por enquanto, foram bons. Isso me desanimou um pouco e com certeza foi um dos fatores para a minha constante ressaca literária, mas acredito que, daqui para a frente, escolherei livros melhores que incentivarão a minha leitura.

Em breve postarei um TOP 5 desta lista. Nem todos os livros lidos me agradaram, mas, com certeza, tiveram livros maravilhosos e que se tornaram os meus favoritos de 2017!

July TBR and Reading Marathon

Hello, readers!
My reading slump it’s almost gone and there’s a reading marathon happening this month. Can I hear an aleluia?
It seams that everthing it’s getting better now, even with the blog.

The reading marathon that I’m going to participate calls MLI 2017 (Maratona Literária de Inverno). It’s an brazilian reading marathon for this winter, hosted by an brazilian booktuber.
It’s two weeks long, starting on 16th of July.

This marathon has some challenges, so these are the books I’ve chosen:

Blue cover: “By Your Side” by Kasie West
Under 200 pages: “A Monster Calls” by Patrick Ness
Bought because of the cover: “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” by F. Scott Fitzgerald
Read of the month: “Magnus Chase: The Sword of Summer” by Rick Riordan

This is it! It’s not too much and most of the books are short, so maybe I’ll be able to read all of them without any problems.
I was really in need of a reading marathon. It’ll help me a lot!

WHY AM I WAITING?
I’m really excited to read this book. I’ve read “Replica” last year and to be honest, it wasn’t one of my favorites. However, the ideia of the book it’s promissing.
The author made a few mistakes at the first book and I hope that she corrected them in this sequel. Also, I’m curious to see what will happen to the characters and how the drama will unroll.

Maratona Literária de Inverno 2017 e TBR

Aquela época do ano chegou novamente. A Maratona Literária de Inverno!
Eu adoro maratonas literárias e não consigo ignorá-las. Sempre dou um jeito de participar de alguma forma.

Para quem não sabe, esse é um projeto realizado todos os anos pelo Victor Almeida do GEEK FREAK.
Este ano, ele está trazendo algumas novidades e novos desafios para deixar a maratona ainda mais divertida e desafiadora.
O evento acontecerá do dia 16 a 30 de julho, com direito a um esquenta de 12 horas no dia 15 de julho, às 16h.

Nessa edição, teremos um aplicativo dedicado à maratona para uma melhor interação, além do Twitter, e saber exatamente o horário em que os sprints de leitura acontecerão (momentos em que todos leem ao mesmo tempo).
